Blackheads and dermatologists?

My problem isn't really with acne, a few pop up every now and then but it isn't bad, my problem is with blackheads...I have quite a few on my nose/cheeks...in that area. Can dermatologists help at all with blackheads? Is there any oral (medication taken as a pill) that they can prescribe for blackheads, or is that only for acne? If I go to the dermatologist will they be able to help me? I've tried using all kinds of different brands to help get rid of and prevent blackheads but they just don't work...

By the way, the reason I asked about oral medication is because I don't believe the topical skin ointments and creams really help. I've tried some from a dermatologist before and it did nothing...my friend has taken pills before and they seem much more powerful.Blackheads and dermatologists?
i can answer this, bc my major problem is blackheads on my upperback (although i do get minor breakouts). i've tried using scrubs, but they never cleared it so i went to the dermatologist and he had this tool, a sharp loop and he barely presses it against your skin and they come out. sorta hurts but not to the point where i have to make him stop. to prevent from more coming back he prescribed, differin-a gel that increases cell production to push out stuff and sheds layers of skin- benzoyl peroxide- a face wash- clindamycin - solution for ythe face- and doxycyline 200 mgs/day - an antibiotic to relieve inflammation-. last timee i went and when he was popping the balckheads he noticed they were easier to take out and said it was bc of the differin. so it does work, and you should ask you r dermatologist

good luck!Blackheads and dermatologists?
